Recovery Ally Choir

The Recovery Ally Choir provides a safe, joyful, and encouraging environment for members to celebrate recovery through music, singing and community.

The choir was founded by John Freyer in 2018 and is currently directed by Robin Rio. While our membership is primarily composed of persons in long term recovery, most of whom are affiliated with twelve step programs, we are open to multiple pathways to recovery and welcome recovery allies, friends and family to sing with us.

The Recovery Ally Choir seeks to help build a recovery-ready community in Richmond and beyond.

Learn the Song

This is a tutorial for the song "One Foot in Front of the Other" by Pete Wyer and John Freyer. Lida Bourhill is teaching the song to members of the Recovery Ally Choir of Richmond. We are a singing group for persons in recovery and our allies. We sing a wide range of non-religious music, including music composed for and by persons in recovery.
